In Miami, a city that's known for bright lights, flamboyance and style, one voice strongly emerges above the rest - Brice. StreetBeat Records' newest artist combines South Beach style with Broadway caliber vocals. Singing is Brice's passion and dance music is his gift which comes across in stunning fashion on his first single "Smalltown Boy."Brice's fortune began one afternoon, during the annual Taste of South Beach, a three day non-stop tropical party. He found himself at trendy nightclub/lounge 821 and luckily overheard the owner/manager discussing his lack of a Monday night act. Brice energetically stepped in and asserted: "I'm a singer." After an on-the-spot audition in which he sang a saucy version of the Pointer Sisters' "Fire," he was immediately hired and a career was launched. Brice has become the vivacious Monday night mainstay at 821 providing lead vocals for different bands in addition to belting out tunes a-capella. Brice came to StreetBeat's attention due to the voice mail he constantly left StreetBeat employees. On these messages, he sang his own original songs as well as dance classics. Shortly after he began leaving such messages, legendary funk producer, Clarence Reid, brought this talented vocalist to our doorstep. His affiliation with StreetBeat was immediate. Brice is spreading his energy everywhere these days. His touring of South Beach night spots is perpetual and his dazzling live act will be captured on compact disc soon. His upcoming single "Smalltown Boy," produced by Ford, a "grandiose" version of the original Bronski Beat hit is sure to climb the charts and hit dnace floors this summer. Brice is definitely a "voice to be heard." Luckily, we will all get a chance to hear him in the coming months. You don't have to travel to South Beach to catch a glimpse of this man: but after one listen to "Smalltown Boy," you'll be sure to grab just a little piece of the vibrance, energy, emotion and ambition that we call "Brice." One of the most unforgettable anthems from the first New Wave invasion made its way across the pond in 1983. Bronski Beat's "Small Town Boy" is arguably one of the most profound songs of its generation, defending what eventually became "The New Wave" movement. This timeless song, whose haunting melodies still echo through the hottest clubs of today, has been given new life. The rebirth of an all-time classic delivers heart stopping production and a lead vocal that would make even Bronski Beat's own Jimmy Sommerville blush The debut single from Brice includes a lush sure-to-be readio smash, a pulsating Hi-NRG club mix, and remixes by George Acosta, To Kool Chris, and DJ Insane. Small Town Boy was released in November '99 on CD and vinyl.
